The John Hancock; is 100 stores building, which during years 1970-1973 was the biggest building in Chicago.
A self-guided tour on the 94th floor of world-renown John Hancock Center includes Skywalk-the city's highest open-air viewing deck, virtual tours on Windows on Chicago, photo and fact filled History Walls, Soundscope talking telescopes, daring photo ops, and the best-rated views of Chicago.
The Hancock Observatory is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Admission is $9.00 / adults (13-61), $7.50 / seniors (+62), $6.00 for children (5-12), and free for children 4 and under. Individual Sky Tours are $3.00 with admission and "Tours for Two", shared audio tours (one Sky Tour - two headphones), are $4.00 with admission. Group admission and Sky Tours rates are available for parties of 20 or more.

Adler Planetarium & Astronomy

This is a place where you can learn space exploration. Special 30 to 45 minute Gallery Programs for groups. Activities include science demonstrations, experiments, slide shows, videos, crafts, interactive storytelling, puppet shows and much more.
Opportunity to watch the night's eye close during special after-hours observing events at the Adler Planetarium & Astronomy Museum on January 20, 2000 from 8:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. The lunar eclipse will begin at 9:01 p.m., reach mid eclipse at 10:44 p.m. and end totality at 11:22 p.m. Planetarium visitors will be able to view the winter eclipse in warmth through the glass windows of the museum's Sky Pavilion, go outdoors to view the eclipse with telescopes, take a guided tour of the Doane Observatory or watch a Theater presentation on the eclipse between 8:30 - 10:30 p.m.

Planetarium is open durning summer time from June 1 to September 6 (Labor Day):
from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday through Wednesday, and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursdays & Fridays
Regular Hours are from September 7 to July 31 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Fridays, and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.
Closed on Thanksgiving Day, November 25 and Christmas Day, December 25.
Admission $5.00 for adults, $4.00 for childres ages 4-17 and senors.
Show tickets additional for all ages $5.00.
You can get there by CTA bus #12 (Roosevelt) or #146 (Michigan) from downtown.
