Dear Friends of Choral Music, 
We would like to present to you the announcement of The Fourth International Choirs' Festival MUNDUS CANTAT SOPOT 2008 held in Sopot in Poland on 21-25 May 2008. 

We cordially invite you to take part in this contest and visit our city to admire the unforgettable assets of this seaside health resort and meet other choirs from many different countries.

Terms of participation

1. Each choir is required to cover its own expenses related to transportation, room and board.
2. The entry fee for participating in one category is 150 Euros.
The entry fee for participating in two categories is 130 Euros per each category.
The entry fee for participating in three categories is 110 Euros per each category.
3. The price of a four-day stay during the Festival, i.e. from May 21 to 25, 2008 covers accommodation, breakfast and dinner for 4 days, a sightseeing tour of Gdansk, participation in all events related to the Festival, and guide services for Festival events.
Room and Board is available in the following class and categories. Prices are per person for all four days.
       1) Economy class I – double, triple, four and multiple-person rooms in hostels, holiday centers or hotels – 70 – 120 Euros
       2) Economy class II – double, triple and four-person rooms in holiday centers, sanatoriums or hotels – 120 – 150 Euros
       3) Standard class – double and triple rooms in two-star hotels - 150 – 220 Euros
       4) First class – single and double rooms in three-star hotels - 220 – 620 Euros
4. To guarantee the rates listed above, reservations must be made through the Festival organizers for registered Festival participants.
5. The Organizers reserve the right to use audio-visual recordings made during the Festival.

Festival Rules

1. The Festival will take place between 21 and 25 May 2008 in Sopot.

2. Only amateur choirs are eligible to take part in the Festival.

3. Each choir can participate in more than one category.

4. The number of choir singers is unlimited, except for chamber choirs (maximum 24 singers).

5. The following materials should be submitted for each choir:
   - a completed entry form
   - a set of scores of the pieces to be presented at the competition
   (the scores will not be returned)
   - a brief history of the choir ( 1/3 sheet A5 ,size letter - 10 points
   - a recent  photo of the choir ( resolution 300 dpi , photos may be sent
     by e-mail or on CD-ROM)
   - a copy of the receipt of payment of the entry fee.

6. Should a choir withdraw from participation in the Festival, the entry fee will not be returned.

7. Entries can be submitted by 31 March 2008.

8. The list of musical pieces to be performed for competition which a choir submits to the organizers should be changed.

9. Should a choir’s performance exceed the prescribed time limit, the jury will interrupt the performance of that choir during the competition.

10. The jury shall award the following certificated based on the total number of prints awarded each choir:
    - Diploma of Participation                  Less than 59,9 Points
    - Bronze Certificate                                       60-74,9 Points
    - Silver Certificate                                         75-89,9 Points
    - Gold Certificate                                           90-100 Points
    - Category A
      I prize - The main prize of festival governor of the district 
      of Pomerania’s Prize and the statuette of Sopot Seagull

    - Category B
      I prize - The President of Sopot's Prize            -    700 EURO
      II prize                                                      -    600 EURO
     - Category C

      I prize - Sponsor's Prize                                -    400 EURO

Jury decisions are beyond dispute.

In 2007 took part 16 choirs choirs with the great success.
